There’s nothing wrong with paying for a guest blog spot. But you need to make sure you get your money’s worth. Ask the hosting site what their organic traffic looks like. You need to make sure that they have strong traffic numbers so that they are a truly authoritative and strong website. You also need to make sure that they are relevant to your industry.

Sometimes the easiest place to start getting backlinks is with your customers or clients. These are people that you already have a working relationship with. They also have websites or social media that are related to your industry.

6. Keep an Eye on Your Competitor’s Backlinks
You’re competing against your competitors to have your website rank better in Google searches. So it’s smart to know what the competition is doing when it comes to their backlink strategy. This can let you know what kind of work you have ahead of you.
One easy way to track the competition is to follow their social media mentions. Then when someone tags a competitor, it’s your opportunity to chime in with an alternative. This raises awareness and increases your odds of backlinks.
